Day 1 - Toronto to Fort Lauderdale/Port Everglades

We woke at 5:30 am to collect our stuff and head to the airport.

Arabella loved the bumpy shuttle ride.

Check-in was relatively smooth and then we entertained ourselves by riding the moving sidewalks and watching the planes and trucks.  Arabella really enjoys meeting and interacting with people so this was a good opportunity for her to make some new friends.

After boarding our plane we found out our route had been changed and more fuel was needed resulting in a delay in our departure.  Since I was already concerned that our arrival time was very close to sailing time, this did not make me more at ease.

Arabella and daddy took the time to watch out the window.

Just as we were getting ready to pull onto the runway Arabella couldn't fight sleep anymore and finally gave in for a nap ... perfect timing!  She slept for about 2 hours and then woke to have a snack and do some more visiting.  She did awesome on the flight!

We're all impressed with how adaptable she can be.  This is not to say she didn't have her moments during the airport experience, but really, I was tired, hot and cranky so why shouldn't she be?

We arrived at FLL 45 mins late =(

After a bit of an oops in that we almost forgot aunt deb's luggage on the carousel while she was entertaining Arabella, we found that one of mom's suitcases had taken a swim at some point and was visibly wet.  The Air Canada rep was rude and combative.

Eventually we were on the bus to the pier.  The last ones literally to board the ship and finally on vacation.

We rushed to muster drill, which was Ari's first time to put on a show for everyone.

We had dinner in the buffet and retired early to finish unpacking while Aunt Deb, Uncle Art and Aunt Ann went to the Welcome Aboard Show.

Prep day!

We woke today to no power which should be helpful in getting things done for our trip.  The power was out due to a huge ice storm that hit over night.  We received 1/4" or more of ice buildup.  Things looked beautiful!

The power came back on around 8:30 am so I started the laundry that needed to be done.  Shortly before 11 am I started our online check in for Air Canada.  I finished Matt and I, but just as I started mom & D
ave's the power again went out.

With no power we decided to go out for lunch.  After driving around the city for 45 mins and realizing most, if not all of the city of the city had no power we returned home to have a peanut butter sandwich.  During this, Arabella fell asleep in the car.

The power came back on again shortly after 1 pm.  We again started the laundry and continued packing.

Mom & Dave arrived at 5 pm with pizza for dinner and after loading the car we were on our way to Toronto Marriott to meet Aunt Deb, Uncle Art and Aunt Ann.

Arabella loved the hotel, especially the carpet in the hall and the bath tub.  She even sampled the soap.

She was too excited about our trip and struggled to sleep, but finally did.
